"Making Moving Simple and Organized: It Can be Done!"

By Pamela Wells, E-marketing Specialist for Nolting Real Estate

As I packed up boxes for my most recent move a couple of weeks ago, I realized something startling. I've moved every year since I started college 8 years ago. I've gotten to the point that I just dread moving--the packing, the lifting, and the cleaning out of dust and dirt that you never saw when the furniture was in. Moving always seems like such a daunting task. Where do you start? It seems like in the end, no matter how organized I try to be, there is always a bit of chaos involved in moving.

Russell Nolting's June Real Estate Update newsletter features an article with tips for making a well-organized move. Despite all my recent experience with moving, many of the suggestions were new to me. For instance, have you ever thought of putting together a notebook for all the details of your move before you even start packing? The article, which references guidelines from decorator Kathryn Bechen, includes an 8-week time table outlining steps for making your move run as smoothly as possible.
