~scape, an American Bistro
The I-64 closure has not stopped me -- when I'm not working at Nolting Real Estate, I'm on the prowl for the best new restaurant in town. Last weekend, Heather and I joined some friends at ~scape, an American Bistro, the first Levy Brothers' restaurant in town.
The location is perfect -- Maryland Plaza in the Central West End. The restaurant rubs shoulders with Design within Reach, Straubs, Bissinger's new dessert venue, and a handful of bars, popular restaurants, and coffee shops. The space is attractive with floor to ceiling windows and contemporary, but warm, decor.
I enjoyed deep fried olives, a light salad and some of the best gnocchi I've ever tasted. Scape is definitely worth a try.
