Is the market really that bad?
Each Monday, I pull sales data for the St. Louis area that I can distribute to my agents. You know, we keep hearing the media telling us that the real estate market is in the toilet. I'm here to tell you that it isn't. At least it isn't in my market.
The past 90 days in St. Louis county has seen 3840 homes sold. They sold on average at 181K within 47 days.
During the same time period in 2006...4365 homes sold. Average price...$173,900 within 42 days of going on the market.
Homeowners in St. Louis county -- don't be fooled. Real Estate is not going down the tubes. The above data is real -- and it shows an average increase in sales price of 4.43% for this summer as compared to last. Don't buy into the media hype that says the sky is falling.
