A Staff of Trained Professionals

Nolting Real Estate:
A Staff of Trained Professionals

My staff is highly qualified. But despite their qualifications, I run this company. I am no absentee leader. I mentor each staff member at Nolting Real Estate. Paige Knerr, my right hand, carries out the day to day activities that keep things moving smoothly. She is a Master’s degreed professional with a great deal of experience in both real estate and the business world. She has a keen understanding of people and negotiations. She is an invaluable member of my team who works with each of our clients one-on-one. Paige, a licensed real estate salesperson, also holds the Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR) designation with the National Association of Realtors.

My wife, Heather, works out of our home in Town and Country. She holds a Master’s degree from Washington University and is a licensed real estate salesperson. Because we are busy raising our three girls, we have decided to put together a home office that enables her to conduct business throughout the day. She is an expert MLS researcher. Not only does Heather understand the St. Louis real estate market, but she also has a keen sense for finding listings that match our clients’ needs. Heather works very hard to support our agents. In addition to working with me at Nolting Real Estate, Heather helps me with our personal acquisitions of Missouri Real Estate. We are committed to this industry not only as a vocation, but as a way of life. We purchase homes that are in need of TLC and give them the attention they deserve before selling them. We also have acquired a great deal of rural property in eastern Missouri over the past few years. To be an excellent real estate company, we must not only help others acquire real estate, but also invest in the products ourselves.

Pamela Wells is an expert in eMarketing. We may be St. Louis’ only gen-X real estate brokerage. As such we are committed to using the latest technology to market our listings. Our listings are marketed on the MLS, on various websites, by snail mail, by email, on blogs, by podcasts, by text message, and in many other ways. With Pamela’s help, we are able to appeal to those who are up to speed with the latest technology. Because of Pamela’s hard work, listing with Nolting Real Estate means your property will be marketed using the latest technology. Like all of our employees, Pamela is a St. Louis native. She holds a B.S. from Samford University and is currently pursuing a graduate degree.

Gwen Becker provides support to our agents by helping our clients with all of their relocation needs. She serves Nolting Real Estate’s customers as they set up their lives at their new homes. As a Warson Woods native, Gwen knows all the ins and outs of living in St. Louis. She is available to arrange for movers, help our clients set up lawn care, recommend cleaning services, and arrange for interior decorators to work with our clients. Gwen works hard to make the transition from a current house to a new one smooth. She holds a BS from Missouri State University and has worked in accounting and office management for 10 years.

Roger Nolting is our land specialist. He assists customers who are looking for land on which to build their dream houses. In the past ten years, Roger has sold more than $50 million in homesites. He is truly an expert. Roger, educated as an engineer (BS and MS from Washington University), is skilled in both home placement and home design. Working in concert with Heather and Paige, he helps our clients find the best property for their custom home.

Edward Slawin is a St. Louis native and a homeowner in Ballwin. He has a BA from St. Louis University and a MEd from Washington University in St. Louis. He has 25 years of experience in the real estate industry and specializes in the sale of development properties.

Kelly Wallace is a St. Louis native. She holds a BA from Baptist Bible College in Southern Missouri. Kelly is a certified residential real estate appraiser and a licensed real estate salesperson. Formerly, she worked for more than 24 years in the residential mortgage industry. Currently, she serves as both a listing and buyer’s agent for Nolting Real Estate.

I am also a St. Louis native and a homeowner in Town and Country. I received my BA from Miami University and my MA from St. Louis University. Currently, I am enhancing my education by pursuing further graduate studies toward an MBA degree. For the past 10 years, I have been a licensed real estate broker. As President of Nolting Real Estate, I have increased annual sales from my predecessor by more than 300%. By focusing on excellent client service and cutting edge technology, I seek to maintain a client base that not only uses Nolting Real Estate for its purchases and sales but also refers clients to the business.

A Boutique Real Estate Brokerage serving St. Louis

Nolting Real Estate:
A Boutique Real Estate Brokerage serving St. Louis

Business has changed in the last few years. Mom and Pop operations are rapidly being replaced by so called “Big Box” operations. In St. Louis, Central Hardware has given way to the local Home Depot store, and the rise of Starbucks has spelled the end to our local breakfast haunts. With this change, St. Louisans have seen an astonishing increase in the variety of products available and a marked decrease in customer service. Last year, St. Louis’ largest, local “Big Box” real estate company sold more than $5.8 billion in homes. This number is impressive. But what kind of service do the 3,500 agents of this company provide their clients?

I have become frustrated with the “Big Box” world. I’m frustrated with lines. I’m frustrated with associates who fail to correctly answer simple questions. I’m frustrated with fancy showrooms featuring appealing products but dismal service. Despite the fact that the “Big Boxes” have great inventory and flashy advertisements, they often fail to provide the service and thoughtfulness of their Mom and Pop competitors.

Nolting Real Estate is committed to remaining a Mom and Pop operation. I work hard everyday to make sure that my staff and I are giving our clients the personalized service that we would expect from those who serve us.

At Nolting Real Estate, our clients are not assigned a number. I meet with each client personally. I review every marketing plan. I inspect every listing. I read every advertisement. I personally take ownership of every aspect of the business. My employees and I meet every business day and I call them at home when we have an emergency. We are a family at Nolting Real Estate. And I would accept it no other way.

Because we recognize that the average family moves every seven years, we work to establish relationships with our clients that will be long-lasting and profitable for everyone involved. To help you buy or sell a single home is not good enough for Nolting Real Estate. We want your business for life, and we will work to earn it. We also want your referrals. Our goal is to impress you with our hard work and to be the company you refer to your family and friends.

Choose our boutique real estate company if you desire personal attention to your needs. You will be glad that you have entrusted the sale or purchase of your most valuable asset to Nolting Real Estate.

Steinberg Skating Rink and Forest Park: Attractions that make St. Louis Great

For more than 45 years, Steinberg Skating Rink in Forest Park has been filled on winter days with skaters of all ages and skill levels.  Last night, my wife and I took our oldest daughter, Sarah (age 6), to Steinberg to practice skating and have a little time away from her two younger sisters.  We had a great time.

I love watching young children learn something new.  Sarah is quite coordinated, but, at first, she fell a lot.  By the end of the evening she was moving quite well without our assistance.  Steinberg is a magical place.

In November 1957, through the generosity of the Steinberg Charitable Trust, Steinberg Skating Rink opened in beautiful Forest Park.  The ice rink not only offers skating but also includes the Steinberg Café which boasts a full food service – beer and wine are also available.  Etta Steinberg, honoring her late husband and investment broker, Mark C. Steinberg, determined that a skating rink would properly memorialize her husband due to his twin interests in youngsters and sports.  The initial cost of almost $1M was shared between the trust (2/3 contributors) and the City of St. Louis (1/3 contributors).

Among St. Louis’ affordable attractions, Forest Park is preeminent.  In 1876, Forest Park was created from 1,371 acres of land west of downtown St. Louis. By the 1890s, the public park was widely used for recreation with bicycle paths, baseball diamonds and lawn tennis courts. An expanded lake provided parkgoers with an opportunity for boating in the summer and skating in the winter. Funds were raised to develop the St. Louis Zoo by the Forest Park Zoological Association. The western half of the metropolitan park was used as the site for the Louisiana Purchase Exposition in 1904. Today, the Saint Louis Art Museum occupies one of the few remaining structures built for the Fair. The Missouri Historical Society is comprised of the new Emerson Electric Center and the Jefferson Memorial Building. The building was the first memorial built to honor Thomas Jefferson and was funded with proceeds from the 1904 Fair.A natural amphitheater near Art Hill was developed as The Muny in 1917 with proceeds from a theatrical production called the Pageant and Masque which was performed on a stage built over part of the Grand Basin. In 1936, an Art Deco-style Conservatory opened in Forest Park. The Jewel Box is surrounded by rose gardens, lily ponds, statuary and monuments and houses seasonal displays. The site of a razed Mounted Police Station became space for the McDonnell Planetarium which was completed in 1963. In 1984, the city sold the Planetarium to the Museum of Science and Natural History. The building, renamed the St. Louis Science Center, is connected by a highway overpass and tunnel to its new headquarters, south of Forest Park.Private donors to Forest Park Forever paid for the $1.1 million restoration of the World's Fair Pavilion. The current renovation is the first of three scheduled phases of Forest Park Master Plan. Forest Park is used by more than 12 million visitors a year. Forest Park Forever was founded in 1986 to work in partnership with the Department of Parks, Recreation & Forestry to rehabilitate and maintain the Forest Park as the "Crown Jewel" of the metropolitan area. Forest Park is the site of the annual Great Forest Park Balloon Glow and the Great Forest Park Balloon Race.
